Privacy Policy

AlterAspect LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates Then What?, including the mobile app and thenwhat.ch (the “Service”). This policy describes the information we process when you watch, create, and continue stories with the community.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. Your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile information, including information provided by your sign-in provider.
  • Content you provide. Story directions, prompts, uploaded images, audio and video, references, generated content, and contributions to shows.
  • Activity and diagnostics. Interactions with shows, reactions, follows, generation activity, app and device information, usage events, and error reports.
  • Purchases. Product identifiers, transaction records, subscription status, and credit balances. Apple processes App Store payments; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Notifications and support. Push-notification tokens and preferences when you enable notifications, and information you send when contacting us.

2. How we use information

We use information to operate your account, deliver and store content, generate requested story continuations, enable community features, manage purchases and credits, send service notifications, provide support, understand usage, and protect the Service against fraud and abuse.

3. Shared stories and public content

Content you publish or contribute to a shared show may be visible to other users along with your public profile information. Community members may continue the story and interact with published contributions. Consider what you share, and upload material only when you have the necessary rights and permission.

4. Service providers and AI processing

We use service providers to deliver the Service. These include Supabase for authentication, with Apple or Google when you choose their sign-in options; Cloudflare for hosting, storage, and delivery; Apple and RevenueCat for purchases; PostHog for product analytics; and Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Our infrastructure and diagnostic providers may process information needed to operate and troubleshoot the Service.

When you use AI features, your prompts, selected references, uploaded media, and relevant story context may be sent to OpenAI for story planning and to fal.ai and its OpenAI and MiniMax media-generation services to produce the requested images and video. Generated results are returned to and stored by the Service. Those providers process data under their applicable privacy policies and service terms.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people and the Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer.

5. Storage, security, and retention

Information may be stored and processed in countries other than where you live. We use safeguards designed to protect it, but no electronic transmission or storage system is completely secure.

We retain information as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account and shared content, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations. You can contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Some information may need to be retained for those purposes.

6. Your choices and requests

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings and subscriptions through your Apple account. To request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information, email contact@thenwhat.ch. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Your rights depend on the laws that apply to you.

7. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. The date above identifies the latest version. We will provide notice of material changes through the Service or by email where appropriate.
